Golfer Luiten closes with bogeys again

Golfer Joost Luiten has hardly been able to improve in the fourth and final round of the British Open. At the Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland he scored a final round of 72 strokes, one above par. It still earned him the shared 40th place, but the best players are still busy.

The 33-year-old Bleiswijker fared almost identically as in the third round, when he blew a nice score with three bogeys on the last three holes. He also started strong on the final day of the famous major tournament and after five holes there were already three birdies on his card. He even almost made an eagle on hole seven, but the ball just missed the hole.

After that it went stiffer for the Dutchman; It is possible that the wind on the course along the Northern Irish coast played a role. He hit bogeys on the last two holes, making him above par.

Shane Lowry is the biggest contender in the overall victory. The Irishman, who scored a very low 63 on Saturday in the third round, has 5 strokes ahead of his closest competitors.
