Meghan points a finger at Beatrice and Eugenie
Meghan has had her say in court, according to documents in The Sun’s hands. She responded to a claim that members of the royal family are not supposed to work.
The former actress, who ran her own successful commercial lifestyle website The Tig until her relationship with Harry, went back hard on that claim. She cited as examples the names of princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, who both do “paid work”, as does Prince Michael of Kent.
Beatrice works in the financial world, and Eugenie is a director of a London art gallery. In her opinion, it was therefore not true that as a royal, she should not be allowed to do paid work.
The claim, which came out through court documents, came when Harry and Meghan expressed their wish to become financially independent. This lawsuit, which goes between her and The Sun, with her commitment to privacy in mind, also reveals how divided the couple and the royal family were when it came to fulfilling their roles.
Meghan also states in the papers that she was “not protected by the institute” of the royal family when she was pregnant and unable to defend herself against what she calls the “intrusion of the press.”
