William and Harry honour Philip’ charming and funny’ grandfather
Prince William (38) and his little brother Harry (36) reflect on losing their grandfather, Prince Philip. He died on Friday at 99 years old and will be greatly missed; they both write in a statement full of fond memories of their grandfather, ‘bbq master’ and ‘chat legend’.
William writes with his grandfather and son George a photo that Philip’s life was dominated by service. Not exclusively to his country, yet additionally to his better half and sovereign and his family. He feels lucky to have learned so much from him, and so does his wife Catherine: ‘I will be forever grateful that my wife had the opportunity to get to know him for so many years and for the kindness he has shown to her. show.’
He continues, “I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandfather who came to collect them in his carriage.” He also says he is happy that they could experience his ‘infectious sense of adventure’ and his ‘mischievous sense of humour themselves.
My grandfather was a unique man and part of a special generation. Catherine and I will continue as he would have liked it and will assist the Queen in the years to come. I’m going to miss my grandfather, but I know he wants us to continue with our duties,” he concludes.
